WELCOME TO NORTH CRAWFORD ELEMENTARY SCHOOL!
North Crawford Elementary serves approximately 240 students in 4-year-old Kindergarten through 5th grade. We are also proud to provide an Early Childhood program for our families. Our highly qualified staff strives to provide an excellent educational program to meet the diverse needs of all of our students.
The elementary educational program provides the foundation for a successful educational career for all students. Elementary students are provided daily instruction in the areas of reading, language/spelling, mathematics, science, and social studies. Students also have the opportunity to attend specialist classes in the area of music, physical education, art, guidance, and library. We are happy to provide band instruction for our 5th grade students. The well-rounded education that our students receive while in elementary school prepares them for success in junior high, high school, and life.
North Crawford Elementary students also have varied access to technology. We have an elementary computer lab, with a classroom set of desktop computers. The computer lab is available to all elementary classes. Students also have access to a wireless laptop mobile lab, a set of Netbooks, and a set of iPads. We also currently have SMARTBoards place in all elementary classrooms. A SMARTBoard is an interactive white board that teachers and students utilize in the classroom.
We are proud of the academic and emotional support that we provide our students on a daily basis. Our guidance counselor works with all students in whole groups, small groups, and meets with students on an individual basis. We also have a school psychologist who works one-on-one with several of our students. Our highly qualified special education staff works with students with learning, emotional/behavioral, and cognitive disabilities. We employ specialists in the areas of speech/language, occupational therapy, physical therapy, and hearing impairment. We have two Title I instructors who work with students individually, in small groups, and whole class instruction in the areas of mathematics and reading. We are also fortunate to be able to offer a comprehensive after school program providing all students with additional learning and enrichment opportunities. Our "Beyond the Bell" program is held Monday - Thursday from 3:30 - 5:15 p.m.
At North Crawford Elementary School, we strive for all students to demonstrate “Above the Line” behavior. “Above the Line” is a behavior program developed by Dr. Corwin Kronenberg. The program uses consistent behavior language across all grade levels, holds individual students accountable for their behavior, and rewards positive behaviors. Positive parent communication is key to the success of the program.
As you can see, we are very proud of our excellent students, highly qualified classroom and support staff, and top notch facilities here at North Crawford Elementary School.
