This is a reminder to North Crawford families that this Thursday and Friday is Fall Break, meaning no school for students and staff. Students will still attend school Monday and Tuesday either in person or virtually, and all students will be virtual on Wednesday. Thursday and Friday is an opportunity for those caught up with work to take a break and catch their breath, and for those behind on work to get caught up. We hope everyone enjoys your 4-day weekend. #TrojanPride

Good evening again from the school nurse. This is an update about our makeup flu vaccine clinic. I will have flu vaccines for students who had signed up for the flu vaccine and missed the clinic, and for those other students who did not have a form completed but later contacted me. We will not be holding a formal clinic day but I will be pulling students out to administer them while they are at school to make sure everyone gets a vaccine. If your student is a virtual student and you have contacted me about getting a vaccine, you will need to set a time up with me. Also, if your student is in 6th grade, is behind on his/her Tdap; and you have Badgercare, are uninsured, or underinsured, fill out the form below and get it to me. I can then get the Tdap vaccine from the county and administer it. If you are struggling to get any vaccine for your student, please contact me.

Good evening and greetings from the school nurse,
If you were contacted earlier today that your student was excluded from school, please check your email. I sent two documents to the parent/guardian email that was listed as primary in Skyward. If you have further questions, please contact me at 608-624-5201 ext 236 during school, or email me at jwpowell@ncrawford.k12.wi.us if it is after hours.

Earlier this afternoon the district was informed that we have a positive case of COVID-19 within the elementary school. Through our contact tracing protocol, we will be identifying and notifying all families whose children have likely had close contact with the positive individual, as well as all staff members who have had close contact. Please feel free to reach out to the district if you have any questions or concerns in regards to this information. Stay well.

The school district was contacted earlier this morning by Crawford County Health that we have a positive COVID case in the high school. Because of timelines, we are not required to do any additional contact tracing here at school. Any individuals who may have been in close contact with the positive case outside of school will be contacted directly by the health department. These cases continue to reinforce the importance for us to take all measures possible while here at school and in our communities to mitigate the contraction and spread of COVID-19. Let's all keep working together to continue giving our kids opportunities to learn and play here at North Crawford.

We would like to pass on that on Friday, October 23rd, Crawford County will be holding a county wide clean sweep that will included prescription drug collection. To prevent accidental ingestion, misuse or abuse of prescriptions, it is very important to dispose of any unused prescriptions drugs. Please consider disposing of your unused medications during this clean sweep and help keep our children safe! Below is a copy of the flyer. You can also visit the Crawford County website or the Crawford County Land Conservation, Planning & Zoning Department facebook page

Check out the delicious lunch we served today. A crispy chicken sandwich on a whole grain bun, ranch baked beans, fresh carrots, and a garden salad. These gorgeous apples were grown locally and purchased at both West Ridge and Sunrise Orchards!

Greetings again from the school nurse!
It is that time of year where letters have been sent out to families who have students that are behind on their required immunizations. State law requires that a student receive at least the minimum required immunizations for the grade level that the student is entering or file a waiver with the school by filling out the Student Immunization Record. Failure to do so may result in a student being excluded from school according to state law. Please note that our intentions are not focused on punitive measures but rather helping you to make informed decisions on your student's health and complying with the state requirements. I am fully aware that most students will not get caught up by the 30th day of school. Instead I ask that you contact me to share your intentions on complying with the state requirements. I am very happy to answer any questions you may have about the law and about vaccines in general. The " Immunization Record Form" and the list of required vaccines are located on the school website under Menu -Documents-School Nurse-Immunizations. My office number is 608-624-5201 ext. 236 or you can email me at jwpowell@ncrawford.k12.wi.us
