If you're looking for a fun family event on July 4th, look no further than the 3rd Annual Kick It and Bounce Tournament. This annual event is a kickball and volleyball tournament. Even if you don't enter a team, consider attending and watching the games. There are bounce houses, face painting, and a dunk tank for the kids. As always, the Gays Mills Fire Department will be putting on a spectacular fireworks show that evening. The event is held at the Log Cabin Park in Gays Mills.

Watch for our seniors in NYC this morning on the Today show! We are hoping someone can record it for us. Contact Jen Kapinus at jkapinus@ncrawford.k12.wi.us if you have a recording! We should be on soon! Update: our spot has been recorded and will air later in the broadcast.

Our last full day in NYC was a good one. We rode the double decker open air bus to Battery Park, then boarded the ferry boat to see the Statue of Liberty and then Ellis Island. After that we were off to visit the 911 Memorial and Museum. After a bus ride back, we enjoyed dinner at Ellen's Stardust Diner, for food and exceptional musical performances. A few of the kids were able to catch a live taping of Jimmy Fallon. This evening we broke into groups with some of us visiting Madam Tussauds wax museum and others catching the Broadway show, Hades Town. We are going to try and get on the Today Show in the morning. Watch for us on NBC around 7am!

Mrs. Seiser's "Camp Kindergarten" is underway! The room is filled with lots of happy campers.

Kindergartners recently celebrated their "glowing year" with a Glow Day. Students completed glowing literacy stations in Mrs. Anderson's room and glowing math stations in Mrs. Seiser's room. It was a super fun day celebrating all the bright kindergarten students.

Another exciting day in NYC. We started our day off in Rockefeller Center, traveling up 72 floors to enjoy views of the city. We then enjoyed some time in the famous FAO Schwartz toy store. Next stop was the breathtaking St. Patrick's Cathedral followed by dining, shopping and relaxing in Bryant Park. We then enjoyed the American Museum of Natural History, a few of us were able to take in the show at the planetarium. This evening we all saw the absolutely fantastic show, Wicked, on Broadway!

The front lawn was buzzing with excitement as the elementary students celebrated another great school year with their annual Inflatables Day. This year was bigger than ever and everyone had an absolute blast!

The kindergarten classes had a great time at the Children's Museum and Trane Park in La Crosse last Friday. A BIG "Thank you!" goes out to all the wonderful chaperones that joined us on the trip. It was such a fun day!

Day #2 in NYC included a morning stroll through Central Park, a tour of the Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts, a historical walking tour through SOHO, Little Italy, and China Town. The evening was spent on a tour bus that brought us around the city while providing comedy and street performers, and more exploring Times Square.

Last week the 2nd graders traveled to the Norskedalen Nature & Heritage Center in Coon Valley. It was a gorgeous day outside to explore the beautiful grounds in a variety of stations. We enjoyed folk music and games, explored the creek, learned about farm life and their buildings. It was a great day!

Last Thursday, our amazing students who earned the rewards trip had a fantastic time at the Brewers game against the Cubs! Check out a few of the photos from the day. Great job, kids! Keep up the good work!

NYC Day #1 adventures- experienced the NYC subway system, shopped, dined and explored Times Square, dinner at Rays Famous Pizza, rode the Roosevelt Island Tram, saw the Queensboro Bridge, and an evening stroll along the East River on Roosevelt Island.

Today the 2nd graders repotted the babies of their classroom "pet plants," modeling the story of The World's Best Class Plant by Scanlon & Vernick. It's been fun watching our spiderettes grow and now they can be enjoyed at home in our own custom pots!

Our first Field Day was a huge success! Thank you to the Spirit Committee for planning the event, Mr. Wettstein for preparing our students in PE, Mr. Cota for running the clock, and all the staff for guiding and encouraging all of our students. A special shout out to Mr. Watters and the high school track team for running each event with awesome attitudes and enthusiasm. Most importantly, thank you to our amazing elementary students for showing up, doing their best, and having fun! We saw a lot of pride, Resilience, Integrity, Safety, and Efficacy (RISE). We're excited to continue and improve Field Day each year and to invite the community next year! #TrojanPride
