First Graders learned more about healthy eating as part of our human body unit with a special visit from Jen Kapinus. Along with teaching us about eating healthy fruits and vegetables, she made us some delicious roasted sweet potato and apples. It's always fun to learn while you eat!
Congratulations to the 3rd/4th and 5th/6th grade flag football teams. Both teams won the Scenic Coulee Ridge & Valley end of season tournament. This is the first time that both teams won the tournament in the same year.
This week we celebrate National School Lunch Week. Gone are the days of cardboard pizza and mushy peas. Thanks to our School Nutrition Team at North Crawford, our students get to enjoy locally grown and raised fresh produce and meat, a fresh salad bar, and highly nutritious breakfast and lunch. Thank you to the dedication of our team at North Crawford; Jennifer Kapinus, Janet Pittsley, Paulette Riley, and Lisa Stoehr. Reminder to North Crawford families that next week is a short week. Students only have school Monday through Wednesday. Thursday is Parent-Teacher Conferences, and Friday is a vacation day.

The North Crawford school board will hold a Special Meeting tonight, Wednesday, October 9th, at 6:00 p.m. in the Large Group Room to consider the district's adoption of the revised federal Title IX regulations. In honor of Homecoming, we had our first 4K-12th grade RISE Families event last Friday. The groups discussed school pride, made posters recognizing our fall athletes, performed cheers in their RISE Houses, and participated in a teamwork game. The gym was bursting with school spirit!
Good Luck to the Varsity Volleyball team as they host a Ridge and Valley Quad tonight. The first match is at 5:30pm.

5th graders in Mr. BJ’s WIN group have been diligently working on their creative writing! Ask them about their scary stories, fantasy stories, and stories about mysterious keys :)
Our 8th graders have been hard at work learning the basics of welding this week! Under the guidance of their instructor, they are gaining hands-on experience with welding equipment, safety procedures, and creating their first welds.
This hands-on learning opportunity is a great way for students to explore potential career paths and develop practical skills they can build on in the future. We're so proud of their enthusiasm and progress!
It's been a busy start to the week for FFA members! Participating in the Apple Fest parade, attending Fall Leadership Workshop, and heading bright and early Tuesday morning to World Dairy Expo!
